2020 Artist: Cheryl Wallace

"Blackbird" by Cheryl Wallace of Lockwood Jewelers in Des Moines. A sterling silver and Tahitian pearl fabricated brooch.

Cheryl is a returning jewelry artist. In fact, Cheryl keeps coming back despite having lost her tent in the high winds of a sudden and unexpected storm a few years back.

Cheryl studied jewelry and silversmithing and earned a BFA at Drake University, and apprenticed as a bench jeweler at Josephs Jewelers in Des Moines, Iowa.

"I fabricate, forge, emboss and cast in karat gold and sterling, adding gemstones and tissue nucleated pearls."
